Centro by Old Oak - 40s, 29s, 10s (Under Construction)

Given the apparent start of this major project now that Old Oak has purchased it from Rygar. Its time to start a new thread to track the progress of the construction. And put to rest the out-dated thread.

Heavy equipment for the pilings is now on site. They will be there for quite some time if they in fact plan to excavate for 5 levels of underground parking. The foundation for these towers will need to go down very deep.

Pile driver for steel girders and piling auger on site now. Looks like they are starting along Talbot St side. Digging the 5 floor pit excavation for these 3 towers will take well into 2020. Foundation work and footings will likely mean spring before they get to ground level.

Wonder who Old Oak sub contracted the foundation work to? The 515 Richmond tower should be topped out by the time they have dug out the foundation. Will Ellis-Don get the contract for the construction? And move their crew over to Centro towers project? The timing would work out I suspect.

Have just started with the caisson auger pilings on west side. Looks like HCM Group is the foundation contractor for this. http://www.hcgroup.ca/

Still not clear what the plans for the 2 storey house that was the lawyer's offices are. Is it going to be taken down? Or somehow undercut to excavate the parking levels below it? Rygar was planning to incorporate the house into podium of the 29s tower. The extra cost of doing that may be dropped by Old Oak I suspect.

And this is not just good news, it's a new tallest for London and a pretty nice looking building.

Does anyone know if Old Oak is going to build it in phases as was originally proposed? I believe originally the low rise centre was going to be built first and then the tallest tower second with the third tower being added at a later date. I think the delay with the third tower was originally due to lease issues with the lawyers office that was to be incorporated into the base of that tower.

Seems likely they're doing it all at once. Old Oak's president said he wants it done by 2021; "Old Oak will start excavating the site, digging down six metres to clean out soil where a gas station once stood, in July. Bierbaum hopes to have the project completed in 2021." Their website states occupancy will be ready by 2022.

Old Oak is pretty active on Facebook and they answered someone who asked if they will have 2 cranes going at once - the answer was yes they will be building with two cranes.

Good to hear. I was always worried that phase 1 would get built and the rest would never develop. Looking forward to seeing it all take shape.

Seems to still be referenced by multiple addresses and the city database doesn't show the properties as merged yet. 100 Fullarton Street, 475-501 Talbot Street and 93 & 95 Dufferin Avenue

Drilling and concrete filling of the caisson pilings continues. Expect this to go on for many weeks to come. The pedestrian walkway covers were being installed along Dufferin and Talbot st today.
