I was iffy about this but at buildout it just might work!

Oh yeah. They just about demo'd the entire old shell and structure. I'm really hoping with the closure of Hard Rock that maybe the modernization can extend further over. Wishful thinking, but now would be the time to update the Hard Rock corner to match the new build.

^ I recall surface parking with this, but that's just shell space that can be easily redeveloped.

The lease expired for Hard Rock at the time of this development, and to be honest, I don't miss it. I'd rather the place get demo'd and something that's not a top-down, once over novelty get redone. I may have gone there once when I lived downtown for years.

I think it could work! The city needs more iconic things about it. I believe having a main thoroughfare could be a step in the right direction.

Am I missing something in the pictures. You are talking about big LED boards. Will this building have those? I agree they add to the excitement of that street with the others there. I just don't see what you are talking about....explain?

I'm all for it. The more large signage (digital and static) the better. Makes for a 'bigger' feeling downtown imo.

I'm not a fan at all of the galaxy and onslaught of advertising--there really needs to be a public art component to all of this to make it worth looking up to rather than something to avoid--but it is laying the groundwork nonetheless.

I'm not sure I even know where to begin digging through City records to find this. Like you can't just up a monstrous outdoor LED board in Phoenix and when I read the Sign Ordinance of the "Business Core" I just kind of glaze over.

I mean, zoning in Phoenix has always been a formality so if the owners want to put up some enormous advertising board (that's not even technically allowed prima facie by the Sign Ordinance) they'll be able to do that because nobody's really going to stop them and it's just a bit of attorney fees and paperwork to get it done.

I was meaning that someone mentioned that this project has big LED signage, making it like Time Square. I was wondering how they knew or if they knew. I like having the light and color and energy. I was just wondering if I missed an announcement or seeing it in the new pictures somewhere.

I'm OK with the LED signs in the area they are in. I wouldn't want to see an expansion outside of what I'll call the "entertainment hub" however.

CrestedSaguaro mentioned it in his records request post on Feburary 27th. "Also, there will be large LED signs on both Jefferson and on 3rd similar to the Ryan in size."

And yes, I absolutely agree. They should only keep these signs in this "entertainment area".

You can see them in these 2 renderings...not sure if the one above the old "Hard Rock" is supposed to be a static billboard or perhaps the LED screen but should look good!

They raised the crane over the weekend. At about the height the Adeline should turn out to be.

Does anybody know what floor this project is currently on? Haven’t been there to see for myself for more than a month.

You can see it from the 202 Eastbound, my guesstimate is the 10-12th floor.

Good guess. The elevator shaft is on floor 14 with the 12th floor getting poured. Walked by it yesterday. Also Link and ASU are at about the same point.
