Don't ask me, it is exactly the name of company in english.

Talk about architecture and design issue in Taiwan. While I am working in this company as intership, it is exactly what I thought. Client (which are our executive manager and chairman choose, modify the design) make the final design. The entire logic is based on what kind of propose can make maxmise money. And I can see how do they discuss with architects during conference meeting. My boss is totally dominant during meeting. If someone want to stop some companies build some sh*t for our cities, one of the ways is to kick these bosses out.

So if you want to change it, one of the ways is to climb high and become senior manager in the company.
well i'm telling you it's wrong!! so why dont you tell your bosses that they mispelled the name? because there's such meaning in english. it sounds stupid. if they dont believe me all they have to do is google it online or ask any of the thousands of foreign english teachers in taiwan.

Firstly, I find that I totally mis-typed my entire post. I exactly try to bring the topic we all have discuessed a lot of time, architecture in Taiwan. It looks like my english is getting poorer.

For english name, I have asked them about it. They used chinese pronunciation to translate it. It sounds quite similar for anyone who only speak Madarin in Taiwan.

well you know chinese and english cannot always be transliterated phonetically because the languages are so different and oftentimes the words dont make sense. they often do this in taiwan and i really think it's bad practice which is why many foreigners laugh at taiwanese english signs because they just dont make sense or just looks dumb. your bosses should just pick a totally new english name and not translate it phonetically if the end result is a nonsensical english name which "soundrise" is. it sounds like a name for a consumer electronic product like stereo speakers or headphones, not for a residential apartment. why not call it "sunrise condominium"?? sunrise sounds kind of similar to "soundrise". tell that to your bosses and maybe you'll get a raise and promotion from it. go ahead and tell them it's your idea. take the credit, i wont mind giving it to you. it's my gift to you from one dedicated taiwan forumer to another

i think they're really interesting buildings designwise. but they should be built by themselves, not together. they dont match enough to pair up together. the white one on the left looks nice enough with all the cantilevered floors and does not need that extra grey linear structure hanging over it.

The fact is not everything is going to your way. In fact, the original design is 34f twin tower. You can find its rendering in Taoyuan Project thread.

It will be limited by several questions like:
-how can I use all floor area ratio for my project?
-how many lands you can use for development?
-what kind of proposal can make maxmise profit for company?
-how much capital you can use in this period?
-how much cost you can afford in this period?
-when the project has to go ahead?
