Taipei | Fubon Financial Xiyin A10 | 98.85m| 22F | U/S

from skyscrapers.cn

http://atftp.epa.gov.tw/EIAforum ... FileTyp=E&docid=187

A10 site is in "low floor area ratio" area which locate in the middle of Xinyi District. (However, I think floor area ratio in most Xinyi District sites are quite low.)
It is what is this area look like. (by R@ptor)

its nice. but why are they building it in xinyi? that's supposed to be the business district. are they not going to build any more office towers? and i still dont understand why the floor ratio is so low. what happened to the 'manhattan of taipei' plan?

This is what I understand for Xinyi District development.

First thing is economic cycle. It is one of important elements for company to build official towers. When Xinyi district in development stage, it faced a serious challenge of economic recession.

Second thing is industry type, which are manufacture and high-tech. These industries do not need many official floor area, unlike financial department. And Taiwan really doesn't have many giant companies.

Third thing is foreign investment. Most foreign investment only really interesting on manufacture, high-tech and other industrial departments, not for retail other commercial development.

Final one is the most important one, the concept of Xinyi District is low-density development. (expect Taipei 101) Taipei 101 is not in the original plan until 2001. Before 2001, the limited height is 45m in that area where A10 locate. Now the limited height is 600m, thanks for Taipei 101. The problem is the floor area ratio didn't change.

Xinyi needs more 150m+ buildings. There are already way too many buildings in the 20-25F range like this one.

There are limitations on this site.
Floor rate ratio is only 450% and the size of the site is not big enough to build a skyscraper. It is same happens with other sites which only build within 25F.

Database entry --> http://skyscraperpage.com/cities/?buildingID=91853

I called the building "Fu Bang A10" but that's probably not a very good name for it. Don't know if "Rich Union" is much better. Can anyone suggest a proper English name for this thing?

I find a lot of local news call it as 富邦人壽信義A10.
富邦 should refer to the name of developer's name 富邦集團 (Fubon Group http://www.fubon.com/eng/index.htm). So I recommend Fubon Financial Xiyin A10.

Oops, I made wrong word.
Fubon Finance Xinyi A10 is correct, no Fubon Financial Xinyi A10.
