Going deeper now to excavate the pit for the foundation and two levels of underground parking. Would expect this to continue thru rest of summer before they start doing concrete work. The sub soils along this stretch of Talbot on the high bank over the river appear to be really sandy. Centro further south has run into ground water problems as the soil is sand. Extra engineering effort and design will be needed to secure the foundations of these buildings and protect them from ground water and shifting.

I'm lost on this building. Is this the same one going up on Ann Street or Varcity Common? It doesn't appear any where on the SSP database or map. Pics?

This is on the west side of Talbot between Mill and John. The site formerly called Locust Mount. Or for more familiar landmarks, go west from the Ceeps or west from The Barking Frog, until you hit Talbot and this site is right across the road lol

Ann St isn't happening yet, not sure when or if it's happening. I think it got a rough ride at the last stage of approval.

Ann street is still in proposal stage and looking at a battle over heritage and nimbyism from the same group of anti progressives. Not likely to start any time soon if ever.

Sign up on Talbot St about street closing starting on Sept 8th. Could be the assembly of the tower crane.

First segments of tower crane are now up. Talbot is closed Tuesday/Wed this week for the final assembly of the tower crane. Following this should see footings started and the 2 level underground parking garage. The 12 story behind Farm Boy off Wonderland is now topped out with the last of the concrete forming completed. Those crews will likely now move to Talbot St.

Tower crane is now up. Not set to final height for this 16s building so will need to raise it once they get up to at least the 8th floor.

Nothing done to date on the foundation for this project since the crane went up. Surprising they didn't move quickly to get the footings dug and poured while the good weather was here.

Good to see some actual progress starting this week. Sidewalk walkway cover being installed and some forming started in the pit.

Have formed and poured about a dozen L2 posts and footings now. Some more of the L2 exterior walls have been poured on the SE corner. Activity has been all in the southeast end of pit so far.
