15 minutes.....exciting. Apparently, the AOPS will be ready for construction in summer, and the OOSV at about the same time (they were both designed by STX marine, and can be seen on their website) and OFSV shouldn't be far behind.

They're already talking about the benefits this contract will have on Newfoundland and Labrador! CBC News interviewed a local company today, who supplies to the Irving Shipyard, and they said they would need to hire more staff if the contract is awarded to Halifax. There are also another 19 companies in the province involved with the shipyard.

I guess this dispells all the b/s from the anti-development crowd that the CC funding was a ploy to not get the shipbuilding contract. Booyah!

Let's get the library, stadium, and nova centre U/C! Come to Halifax private sector, we've got the most educated people around and 25 years of industry on the way.

Halifax should be an even more beautiful city in the upcoming years!

Looking forward to all of the positive economic runoff from this to effect Halifax. Stadium, LRT, new office towers, hotels, convention centre expansion? The sky is the limit!
