Norquay 'night skiing' from 5-9. I must have done 20+ runs from 5-7 and so I was done.

^ I miss Louise. I don't think I've been able to get there in at least 15 years.

Nakiska this morning for a quick mid-week blast.

Great snow for the end of March, blue-bird bottom, clouded over zero vis top.

COVID-19: Whistler Blackcomb announces it will not reopen for winter season

Whistler Blackcomb ski resort has announced it will not reopen for the winter season when the COVID-19 provincial health order is scheduled to lift on April 19.

Whistler Mountain was already scheduled to close on April 19 and officials said they believe the best thing to do is to begin winding down winter operations.

I had 3 days left on my 10 day Epic card .. hopefully I'll get credit for next year (like they did last year).

Love all the pictures of the AB mountains - I enjoy Whistler, but I miss "my" AB hills. Norquay is definitely a sleeper with steeps. While Louise is a beast, I miss Delerium the most. Though there are many epic chutes as WB, I've yet to find the same "joy" as dropping into DD on a blue sky day.

Enjoy the rest of the season ... I'm thinking of heading out to Cypress just to end the season on my terms!

Norquay today after a few good dumps this week. Tons of snow, even some fresh trax/powder in mid-April. Love being able to go from laptop to lift in 35mins.

Norquay is definitely a hidden gem. They used to offer "Toonie Days" where you could but a lift ticket for $2. It seems like they did this last in 2019/20, can't confirm if it was offered this season. The steeps to skiers right are spectacular for burning the thighs ...

It also seems like the plan to run a gondola to town is DOA which is a shame as that would likely have brought in more tourists. If your their in the summer, some good mountain hiking/scrambles in the area.

Norquay badly needs new chair lifts, the one that serves the most challenging terrain is a slow moving two person lift from the '60s.

^that they do.

Sunshine was pretty impressive today given that it is April 11th. Tons of snow and while there was a long wait to get on the gondola, the staff were amazing and everything was very slick.

Looks so good up there. Been more than 15 years since I was last up skiing. Hell I remember the Bus rides up. Last time there we MTBed up the ski out.

Great photos from this season! A bit envious as we decided to skip the entire season and didn't go up a mountain a single time. First time since moving to Canada and hopefully next season will again be back to normal.
