Im doing a study on the influence and increase of loft developments on urban centres, please post up lofts in your city that are interesting and or different from just "a loft".

thanks in advance.

These aren't really all that different or unique but I'll show them anyway.

Quad City lofts.

Davenport, Iowa. The old Crescent cracker/macaroni factory and warehouse are the newest lofts to open. They where 100% occupied before they even opened.

Details.

Across the river here in Rock Island, Illinois, we've gone somewhat "loft wacky" Hopefully they won't go overboard and saturate the market. Soon every square inch of formerly empty upper floors in downtown buildings will be occupied.

Check out the windows you get with these lofts.

New infill lofts.

New lofts/office space on left, old rehab lofts on right.

Work in progress. Great for those young people who don't mind living over a nightclub.

Work in progress. Old trucking company warehouse.
Since I took this picture this place has been completed and is fully occupied.

The Broderick Tower Lofts, under renovation here in Detroit.

It seems like every other building in the city is getting turned into lofts. I just think this is the most notable.

not sure what you mean by just "a loft" but...

this one is appropriately called Glas (construction to start soon):

the cool thing about this building is that it incorporates townhomes at the base. I'm not sure if any retail fronts the street but I'm pretty sure this development is not built along any major retail streets

here is a nice and very recent infill loft called The Glass House:

a whole block of infill lofts:

Pretty much all the buildings you see here (St. Louis) have been converted into lofts:

I wonder if such a book exists already? (not to burst your bubble, just curious)

From downtown Fort Worth:

Houston Place Lofts - redevelopment of office building from 1906:

Photo by John Roberts of Fort Worth Architecture.

Electric Building - lofts (and non-loft units) in redeveloped 1929 office tower - I live here, actually.

One Montgomery Plaza - loft condos in redeveloped, now mixed-use classic 1928 Montgomery Ward building:

The Lofts at So7 - New construction loft tower, planned across the street from Montgomery Plaza. Should start to see dirt move on this one fairly soon:

Sanger Lofts - lofts in redeveloped 1920s Sanger department store building:

Texas & Pacific Lofts - loft condos in redeveloped 1931 Art Deco train station (and yes, it's also still a train station):

Kress Building lofts: Lofts in redeveloped Art Deco Kress five & dime store (on the left):
