Cool R@ptor's World

Inspired by Freki's thread I decided to start my own one. Every day I will show you a different photo from my travels and trips that took me to hundreds of cities in 39 countries on 5 continents so far. I will include photos of everything ranging from 20+ million megacities to small villages, from major landmarks to things that are totally off the beaten path and probably I will throw in landscape photos as well every now and then.

Here's the first one:

Nanjing Donglu, SHANGHAI, CHINA

Ah, I sense we're going to see some awesome places and photos from all corners of the world in this thread. Can't wait for the next pic.

Oh, and the neon on Nanjing Dong is looking as good as ever!

You will certainly enjoy it, although I think summer is not the best time to visit Rome as the city is completely overrun by tourists in July/August.

As I promised you, I won't just focus on major cities but I will also show you some smaller ones. Today it's Wuerzburg in Bavaria, a city that really reminded me of a smaller version of Prague. A well-preserved oldtown with tons of churches, a river flowing right through the center, surrounded by hills and a huge fortress on top of it.

View from the Marienberg, WUERZBURG, GERMANY

Sweet! I've been through Würzburg countless times--albeit, I never got off the train.

Damn, another thread to keep up with daily...

Any chance of "a daily dose of Amsterdam" type of thread while you're at it?

R@ptor,
I can't seem to see your pics, nor load your website. Do you know what might be wrong?

Strange, I just checked everything (even with different browsers) and everything works fine.

After paying a visit to Sydney at the other side of the world yesterday, let's go closer to home today. Haarlem is a lovely city just a 15 minute trainride away from central Amsterdam.

Still can't see them. Perhaps your website has been censored by Swedish authorities, wouldn't surprise me these days.

That's really kinda strange. You seem to be the only one who has this problem. Do me a favor and enter this link directly in your browser (it is the last photo I posted - the one from Haarlem) and tell me if this works.

^^
Nope, it only says "Looking for www.jochenhertweck.com..." in the Firefox status bar, and after a couple of seconds I get the usual "The page could not be found" error page when you enter an URL that doesn't exist.
Really weird.
