Yeah I'm aware of the fall-to-spring Lake Okanagan Temperature Inversion, I was also referring to general perception. Toronto certainly isn't perceived as a particularly sunny city nationally. The only other one I can think of are the four I mentioned and Kamloops... even though both Kamloops and Kelowna receive over 300 hours less sunshine per year than Regina (the next least sunniest in of the 5).

Ah ok. Got it. I went years ago to Meech Lake with my cousin and his wife (cousin from London, UK, wife from Lyon) and she was listening to the conversations of the 'locals' who were on the beach. She was fascinated at the terms/words being said and remarked that she couldn't understand a lot of it.
