Second that. And great shots all around. Thank you.

Okay on a serious note, the footprint is massive. I don't think anything else in terms of constructed towers in Austin can compare. One Congress Plaza used the whole block but that was to dig down to give it that lowered open area outside.

I can think of quite a few examples:

City Hall is a full block, without the carve out for an historic house, and parts of the garage extend out under the ROW.

AMLI Downtown has a full block of underground parking.

Northshore has a full block of underground parking.

Seaholm underground parking is about a full block.

Whole Foods underground parking is larger than a standard city block.

etc.

This project has closed the bus lane on Guadalupe at 7th and 6th. It's really made a bad impact on bus travel time at rush hour. Anyone know if the lane closure is temporary or until the building finishes?

Block 185 (Pelli Sail) and 500 W 2nd both have underground parking, but are not full blocks. But then neither is 6 x Guadalupe, so 185 might be close to the same size.

Our only true full block "tower" is the Omni Hotel. It's a million square foot 200 footer. It's big, even if half of that is technically the biggest atrium in the city.

Ah yes, the good ol' inward facing atrium style hotels of the 70s & 80s.
When downtowns across America were "scary" and completely shutdown at 5pm.

"Don't go outside at night!"

My friend who works at Hobby says it's technically 3 buildings merged together. She told me one time how confusing the layout is. When she started working there several years ago she would get lost all the time.

Not saying it's a good thing, but personally I love buildings that you can get lost in. It's such a statement to architecture in general that you could so disorient someone on what is essentially a small footprint (if it were, say, an empty lot). I remember when I first came to Austin, visiting someone in one of those 80's hillside tree-house style homes, an getting confused about where things were and what level was the exit and what was a deck or yard. It was fascinating to me. I still love houses like that.

Apologies since this has probably been asked before, but what's the story with that house or building in the NE corner of the lot?
