Question about the lighting. Will 6XGuad have lighting that can change color or is it just white? There has been some discussion about our skyline having less than impressive lighting aside from a couple of buildings, our night lighting leaves a lot to be desired. Would like to see more colorful lighting features including changing colors and patterns.

The final elevations were added to the approved site plan today, and there were no changes to height. It's 848'. The elevations are on pages 18-19.

I'm really hoping it has the darker look shown in these latest renderings. Austin needs some color variety. The glass appears pretty dark, but really, I was looking at the other buildings to compare, and it appears about as dark as the Chase Bank Tower does there, which makes me wonder if it isn't purely the reflective glass since the Chase Bank Tower is highly reflective as well, even though it has some darker accents. One other thing I was thinking of is that since this building will be so much taller than most of our skyline, it's going to be kind of interesting seeing the lower portion of the building reflect the other buildings while the upper floors won't be reflecting anything but the sky.

Also, I love the lighting shown in those renderings. If that's what they go with, then I'll be happy. That south facade with the lights going up look really sharp.

Love it! It's like a modern 1/2 scale Sears/Willis Tower

I think it's actually the east facade that has the strip of lights going up, but yeah that's my favorite side. Wish they had something similar on the south side where the best view of the skyline is, though.

I was talking about the lights shining up the facade on the south side above the office portion of the tower. I really like the way those lights accent the balconies. If these renderings are true to the lighting design, I think this will turn out to be one of our best lit buildings maybe on the level of the Frost Bank Tower. I also really like that "keyhole" at the top and the way it's lit. I really like the contrasts on this building. I think it has a bit more texture than some of the glass towers we've been getting.

Gensler updated all the renderings on their website to reflect the darker glass. Here are the ones we haven't seen.

Looks better IMO. I can't wait until we see another fully black building.

The zoomed out rendering showing both Austonian and Independent seems off to me. Even accounting for the fact 6X is further away from that vantage point, it should still look taller than the others. It's over 150 feet taller plus it sits higher up than either of the others. Looks barely taller than the other two in that rendering.

Man, that sweet little view from up on W 7th is gonna be toast. It will just be the back side of that enormous podium. The costs associated with progress, I guess.

It seems (to me anyway) to be an unlikely reflection caused optical illusion.

Does anyone have photos of any demo? If not, I'm gonna have to walk the four blocks from my office to take a look.

The rendering shows the tower inside the podium instead of on top of it.
