That said I believe those garages, like the park are subject to capital view. So nothing tall will go there. Thus nothing capitalistically viable.

I believe all of them are in CVC's - that's why Waterloo Greenway had to redesign the amphitheater roof after construction had already begun on "The Tulip" (which is what I think it was called). The old design was too tall - blocked the lower portion of a CVC.

Is this good or bad?

I could see a cool art museum replacing those two garages in front of waterloo.

There is, the first Ruckus is right beside where 3.0 is being built.

While 2.0 is a few blocks over on Guadalupe and 24th

Can say that I’m pleased 3.0 is not an enlarged version of the other two.

This is a very good thing. The city is a runaway train with housing affordability so this will help.

Stonelake's 37-story tower at old Carmelo's site

Quote:
Stonelake Capital Partners has released preliminary details of a planned downtown tower at the site of the former Carmelo's Italian restaurant — land it acquired in a December foreclosure auction.

"Stonelake Managing Partner Kenneth Aboussie confirmed in a July 15 email that the company intends to construct a 37-story residential high-rise on the site with 250 units. Stonelake has tabbed Gensler's Austin office to design the building, while GarzaEMC is on board as the civil engineer. The working name for the project is Stonelake | 5RR."

It’s a box, but it’s got some height and austin needs height. I’ll take it!
