Seriously, track lighting in a new luxury high-rise that will be a signature building to the Chicago skyline. Who does that anymore? That's like sooo 2000s. Lol

I was actually surprised to see some of the apartment units are cheaper than I expected. We are moving to Chicago and are looking at apartments (some prices lately skyrocketed it seems..wtf?) But unfortunately the opening of the apartments doesn't 100% align with our schedule yet. Would totally live here.

Are there any short-term leases/sublets y'all could move-in to until One Chicago's apartments are open?

Thought about it. It'll be 1 month from the time we will probably arrive and when One Chicago starts. One of their perks.is that apparently residents get access to the Lifetime Fitness there which is much nicer than I anticipated, but not opening until January 2022. The units here aren't CHEAP but they were starting at the low end at $2700 for a 700 sq ft 1 bedroom that has a nice enough layout.

We are looking to buy and my wife is convinced we'll find something, close on it, and move within 6 months of moving to Chicago.

Might I suggest the #7400 Condo unit?

5 bedrooms, 5+2 baths, and (in the example floorplan) 5+ dining tables and 5+ couches. You could eat, sleep, relax, and bathe in different rooms every night of the week. Perfect for avoiding boredom at home during the next pandemic!

Reminds me (for some reason) of a purported exchange between Mrs. Potter Palmer and Mrs. Astor sometime in the 1890's. Mrs. Palmer was bragging about her new 24-carat gold decorated china dinner service for 100. Mrs. Astor replied: "But my dear, what do you do when you have a LARGE party?"

And then there was the time that Bertha Palmer hosted Princess Eulalia, the Infanta of Spain, at a luncheon when Her Royal Highness represented Spain at the Columbian Exposition. Her Royal Highness was insulted that she was hosted by an "innkeeper's wife."

I wish I were wealthy enough to afford that...

The average price per sqft seems 10 - 20% higher than Vista's.

My offer to go in on a unit stands...

Joking aside (or am I?).....

Maybe I missed this at some point in the thread, but are there plans for crown lighting? Or is there a photo on the site I missed?

Much better than Vista. Nicest tower that's gone up in Chicago in a while. Too bad it isn't taller.

Currently 6th tallest roof in Chicago and 3rd tallest roof built in last 47 years. I feel like it's pretty tall.

Also you can add the two structures together for 1545 feet of total height .

I guess, sure it would be nice to have another 30 feet to call it a supertall. But again, I kinda feel like it's the perfect height. Any taller, and it might start too look overwhelming in that area. It's already a beast towering above most of River North, but it fills a nice gap in the skyline, is sleek, replaces a parking lot, and compliments the cluster around JHC very nicely.

The units with the terraces are amazing.

Agreed, much taller and it would be too close to Chicago's other four 11-1200 foot buildings, and look odd in this location (until other buildings joined it, that is)

Height variation is a good thing IMO

If this area fills up anymore, this tower might become lost.
