I liked the graininess. More intuition, less skulking around.

My best one yet.

The first one I thought could have been up in the Yukon Alaska border but then something about the highway sign made me think of Maine.

I was right about the Tolstoy crossing, I could just make out US 59 on one of the signs

Got the wrong side of Turtle Mountain

Picked the wrong Grasslands NP crossing

The observation tower clued me in on the last

21,913

Good run!

Sounds like people really enjoyed the latest challenge! Here is the scoreboard:

I hope this week's featured map is as exciting for all of you. It's, *drumroll*... Every Tim Hortons! According to the author: "Every Canadian location visible on streetview is represented, and there are many outside of Canada as well." So, be forewarned, you might find yourself at a US/international location. For the Mid-Week Friendly there is no time limit and no restrictions on movement.

Good luck!

Here are the Mid-Week results:

And here is this weekend's competition, on the same Tim Hortons map. 5 minutes per round.

A reminder that everyone is welcome to play, even if you haven't in previous weeks!

Good luck!

Holy shit what a hideous round (first one excluded, obviously) lol I couldn’t even be arsed to try to get 5,000. My mental health wouldn’t allow it. So I just randomly guessed based on topography lmao

Not too bad considering, 12.7K.

Another good one.. In one of the images was a restaurant chain I only associate with the USA but that helped me figure out the City.

The one with the Knights Inn was particularly fugly. Maybe a round of just ugly craptastic rent by the hour no tell motels for a challenge?

^That was the only way I knew what city I was in. That plus the street name signs and I got 5'000 for a province I've never even been too!

That first one was awesome. I knew within five seconds which community I was in.

Opposite of many here, the last two were right in my wheelhouse.
The first one, didn't go with my gut and got waylayed by a certain ethnic symbol.

Time for Funday Monday! This week I whipped up a map called Ugly Canada, featuring 5 buildings that have made prominent appearances in our very own Ugly Canada thread. Should a breeze for everyone, right?

I clearly spend too much time on the Ugly Canada thread as those were all too familiar

I assume you are saving this beauty for the all-time ugly mega challenge!

24990 points. Not bad haha, the only one I wasn’t certain about was the last one, but I knew which city it was and managed to guess the right neighbourhood based on the terrain.

My wife lived there while at Queens before I knew her and an ex of mine lived in the other large apartment building with stores at ground level near a subway line. I'm cursed.

The results for the Ugly Canada challenge are in!

This week's main challenge map is An Urban Canada, by bsurmanski. Description is as follows:

Quote:
The ultimate collection of Canadian cities and towns. Contains the top 100 largest population centers in Canada (cities with more than 24,000 people), and a random collection of even smaller towns. Each point is in or near a population center.
As always, the Mid-Week Friendly has no time limit and no restrictions on movement.

Good luck!

Here are the Mid-Week Friendly results:

This weekend's ranked challenge, as you are most likely aware by now, comes with a 5 minute time limit per round and everyone is welcome to join in, even if you missed previous weeks.

UGH! I got fooled by a sign!

I'm still waiting for any of these games to have a spot in Halifax. It's our turn to show off our hidden beauty like Fairview, Cole Harbour, or *shudder* Lower Sackville.
