MISSISSAUGA | Parkside Village | Multi-tower | 6,000 condos | 30 acres

http://lifeatparkside.com/PSV/

http://www.parksidevillagecondos.ca/

Parkside Village will include more than a dozen condo towers on 30 acres along the Western edge of Mississauga City Centre. Immediately to the East is the Living Arts Centre, City Hall, YMCA, Central Library, and several new condo towers that conform to good urban design standards.

Parkside Village is expected to have around 6000 condos housing 12000 people, approximately 400 people per acre. It will also include 50,000 square feet of amenity space, as well as retail space at grade.

Epic. Mississauga reminds me of Simcity for some reason.

I'm also probably the only person in the world who wouldn't freak out living in that subdivision next door and having awesome towers across the street. It seems like they need to expand that park and/or expand the school though to accomodoate the influx of people.

What sort of mass transit are they planning for this city? I hope they're not planning to support this increased density with only cars and buses.

You can see transit plans on pp. 48-52. And keep in mind the existing Mississauga Transit already does approximately 160,000 boardings per day.

Seems kind of like skyscraper sprawl.

That is definitely happening! The school park will connect with Parkside Village Park then lead into the new Community Common Park.

It is bad enough that Mississauga sprawled outward so much, all the way to its borders, but now it is sprawling upward as well. The sprawl just won't stop.

They are moving quickly on building the infrastructure...

Zonta Meadows park will lead into Parkside Village park then into MCC Common park then past the Living Arts Centre then into the new Main District and SQ1 and possibly to Kariya Park as well...going to be very nice

Slightly out of date

This is a bit off line...
