^^^^^

The drive down the NJ Turnpike North is quite a sight if the visibility is right. Heading to the GWB, and driving through it (top level of course) provides a great introduction. For ambiance, one must have the Sopranos theme song playing during the drive.

I still think for those coming from JFK, a drive into the city via the Williamsburg Bridge is a hell of an intro. Probably my favorite bridge next to the GWB.

Also try Weehawken NJ: In my mind probably the best view of NYC, other than on top of Rockefeller Center

^^ Yes, I will. And that expanse of skyline from where you're saying will kill me though, but I'm down to take the risk

The second crane (blue one) is now coming down. I guess that means the heavy lifting is done and the project just needs some finishing touches.

A cool night shot. Visible are also numerous other HY proxy towers.

As big as this tower is in person, it just gets lost. A few years time, it'll just be another brick in the wall.

That's such a cool angle, and different from what we usually see. This makes me yet further excited about how all the development in this area is going to contribute when it eventually merges with the existing skyline. The view up Varick (I'm guessing? almost certain..) is interesting too because you can now begin to imagine 30 HY behind it, and I'm sure that will be the sort of canyon/corridor view that will become iconic rather quickly, not unlike up 34th Street at the Empire State Building, up 42nd at Chrysler, and down several SoHo and Tribeca streets and the Trade Center. Simply marvelous.

With 30 Hudson and its dominance over 10HY, its almost like I can't enjoy this tower for what it is because I feel that 30 HY will overshadow it, and every time I'm near it, it acts like a tease for its bigger brother. Its as 10 HY doesn't excite me because I'm so looking forward to the larger component and its this type of bias that makes me wish that renderings where delayed until 10HY is complete. Still, one can't help to notice how much smaller this will look once Phase I is set and done.

Maybe Barnett is up to something for the better. It could be that by him not releasing official renderings or spoon feeding us different angles, that it keeps the public in a state of suspense that will ultimately keep the public on the edge. Overtime generating big interest in it. Suspense in a way is a form of manipulation.

There is no housing in this building, so you can't have an apartment there. But what you can have is THIS house, whit THIS view of 30 HY and future 10HY (along with the ESB and all of Midtown Manhattan plus the Hudson River) for just $ 4.595.000. Located in a hilltop in Hoboken it is 5000 sq ft. with six bedrooms, three full and two half bathrooms. Somebody interested? I know I would love to live in that house, if only I had the money.

Can you imagine yourself waking up every day to this view?

Last crane is gone.

About one more month and exterior work will be completed.
