This building rizz up reall quick. Also I didn't realize previously that it would be visible from the Hudson (two photos up) and I'm glad for still another addition to this new Lincoln Square/Waterline Square skyline that's happening.

Some of the low rises need to be snatched up and developed. A lot of potential for proxy developments. I think similar towers such as this will rise in time. While land constraints are present in Manhattan, the frequency of low rise rubbish and blight is present, and the West Side still offers ample opportunity to aid in the residential demand.

I would like to see higher unit quotas for the areas. Density needs to be increased. A tower like this is nice, but the units are underwhelming.

Nearby parcels could easily support high square footage, 1000+ unit developments.

Far right. To the right of Ingels Pyramid.

Looks like its topped out if not close to doing so. Compare renderings above to current progress in this pic.

Façade Work Appears Stalled At 611 West 56th Street In Hell’s Kitchen

Quote:
Work appears to have stalled on 611 West 56th Street, aka 823 Eleventh Avenue, a 450-foot-tall condominium building in Hell’s Kitchen. Designed by Portuguese architect Alvaro Siza with SLCE as the architect of record and developed by Sumaida + Khurana and LENY, the 37-story tower will yield 80 units designed by Gabellini Sheppard Associates.

Recent photos show that little has changed since our April update. The white limestone panels have only been installed up to the top of the podium section, and the remainder of the superstructure’s concrete and cinder block walls remain exposed. The grid of large rectangular windows meanwhile are all in place and take up most of the surface area, so the lack of the final façade treatment is not too noticeable. A thin blue film on the inside part of the glass can be subtly spotted.

It’s unclear when 611 West 56th Street will be completed, though sometime in 2021 is the most plausible estimate at this point.
