Huh? If you read this thread at all, you'd see that the majority of people love this design. That includes many of us who thought, and still think, that 432 Park is an unimaginative POS design by a hack architect.

Just wait until it's topped off and you'll see how awesome this design really is.

In fact, many of you will pretend to forget this conversation completely by 2018.
What the hell are you talking about? Read the thread. Almost everyone loves this tower

There's a general SSP theme of 90% of people hating a tower when first announced, then it slowly declines to around 50/50 during prep/construction, and once built 90% of people love the tower.

432 Park is a perfect example. One57 was another. 4 WTC is a third.

You see it happening right now with 2 WTC. When first announced 90% of people were saying it's the worst tower ever. Now it's running like 50/50. I bet you once it's built, almost everyone will love it.

We all love this tower. By saying that we wish it was taller, is a tribute to its greatness. IF it was proportional, with which the dimensions would keep it at the ratio it is, but only taller, WITH the same RATIO, then that would be awesome. Only a fantasy.

On the topic of him not reading, this is America. People don't read or have piss poor reading comprehension skills.

But again, we all love this tower.

Nothing to be confused about. All is well. This is btw the Age of Ramses, where greatness occurs everyday as more towers rise in the Empire City.

I am not going to read every single post on this project.
I see a pattern with many towers and find it frustrating to read.

Construction is a slow and tedious process and we all have our opinions.

Oh, the securing of financing is good news too, but it was to be expected.
The ratio width/height will be exactly 1:24!!!

This building needs to be up as soon as possible! It is such a great look. Unfortunately, I think it is going to look very slim and not as detailed from some parts of jersey since the details at the top are facing north or south - however, it is going to look unreal from the park and top of the rock (depending on how long the former still has views with all the new towers going up_.

Speaking of Top of the Rock, I wonder if these towers will skyrocket attendance? It is arguably the best spot for views. The herds usually go to the ESB, but those that know better will flock to the Rock. Less crowds, more space, and a better shot of the park. 1 Vanderbilt might change this or even 30 Hudson but for now, the Rock rules.

You can get a good feeling for what people think of a project by reading a just a few pages instead of asking everyone for opinions which they have already voiced. Forum etiquette 101.

Re: TotR: You can actually see the ESB.

In less than 4 years the view will be epic. Well it's already epic, so ...

That rendering that in itself is a highrise is in your face amazing. Like Pharaoh Ramses once said at his deathbed, only in NY.

Quote:
Those two low-rises, green and red, next to the rendering need to come down. Another super tall possibly. If I can see sky, than its not enough.

Although I say this, and it wouldn't surprise me if 57th Street will one day be a canyon, but one that's just supertalls. Land is getting to the point that the average height will increase, and it has. 18 floors for Manhattan is typically what we see now a days. Midtown being an average of 40-50 floors (if we factor in all the developments), but this keeps rising.
