The preliminary massing study looks pretty lame. I think the best we can hope for is a spadrel-free zone.

Don't put much faith in my drawing, because it's based on a crude, out of focus, black and white line drawing of one face of the building. Who knows what color the real thing will be? But it does give you an idea of the massing, the size, the height...

One Bloor will hold its own well against this bad boy.

75 Floor One Bloor should hit 245 meters to 255 meters.

Why are they calling it 50 Bloor west? Wouldn't an even number put it on the south side of the street?

Edit: My bad. It's on the north side of the street. Brain Freeze.

One Bloor is on the South side of the street.

So this will be 50% taller than the Four Seasons that's right next to it.

Too early to tell how this one will look based on one flat elevations drawing. But I'm glad that we're finally getting official movement on this site. Holt's and Cumberland Terrace are two of the city's most important pieces of redevelopment/intensification remaining, so let's get'er done.

it says in the article (or rather something that a real estate agent blurbed) that caltrane was referencing that since the tower isn't actually built on top of the current holts, the holts will remain open until completion of the base directly below the tower, move over there, then the current holts will be torn down and rebuilt into the new podium. it will mean an interesting construction process!
