I've been doing my best to keep my 3d model up to date with all the new proposals in the west loop.
Here's virtual tour.

If there was an award for forumer of the year, you'd win.

Old Town Park Phase II

Naked eye looks a lot better than my pics. It looks surprisingly tall but I had a really hard time finding the official height. Anyone have a reference?

^There is still a lot of room for development, but the West Loop is starting to look DENSE.

Thanks for sharing!

Great vantage point. Incidentally, Cabra - the Peruvian restaurant up there - is excellent.

rgarri4 outdoing himself as usual... If all these projects get finished, by the time they're done there was an angle that showed how substantial a chunk of the skyline the West Loop would become (and that's not even considering all West Loop buildings between the river and the Kennedy either...)

The question was: "How do people feel about the Contemporaine's concrete now that it's 15 years old?", right? While my response had nothing to do with the design of the building, I stand by it. The concrete looks like hell. Cracked, blochy, discolored. None of that is in the original renderings I am looking at right now. Also please note, the concrete was never perfect, but it has deteriorated over the years. The building across the street was built at the same time, and its exposed, painted concrete elements look much better.

What more could you want in life than beer, tacos, and coffee in the base of your building?

Understood the question. The exposed concrete on Contemporaine looks far superior to Grand on Grand’s.

Alderman is worried about residents complaining to him about noise from the park.

I live in a building that is directly adjacent to a PBR bar that opens up to an outside patio area. I can hear music(faintly) from the 13th floor facing the opposite direction. Not a big deal. I knew this moving in. Anyone moving into those apartments will have a choice, don't move there if that's an issue.
