Gateway Tower was the best. I wish that was a reality.

Thompson center relocation second best in my opinion hahaha. A+ photoshop!

Gateway is by far the best for the entrance to Chicago. A little dull but I do like STL's two tower plan.

None of them really knocked it out of the park for me. Gateway may be the best of the bunch, but none of them were something I'd be super proud of beyond height.

Garrett Kelleher Recieves settlement

https://www.loopnorth.com/news/spire1029.htm

Wonder if garrett is partnering back with related to redo this thing since he received his settlement and is still interested in the parcel.

Cant wait to see what the plans entail in a few months.

Will chime in - I really loved the SOM design especially the form of taller tower. And if they used terra cotta like they were planning that would be an impressively tall terra cotta tower. Guess it doesn't matter now...

I thought nothing could be built east of Lake Shore Drive on land. Gateway is proposed to be partially built east of LSD based on the renderings.

It's just the support beam the form the 'gate' I believe. Also it's an over-the-top, not-to-serious concept.

Personally I love the STL version. At this point I would just be happy for the bike overpass to be completed though, haha.

See the below link and refer to page 8, "but in no instance will further private development be permitted East of Lake Shore Drive."

Maybe I'm splitting hairs here but Gateway appears to be proposed development east of Lake Shore Drive. I'm struggling to find further verbiage in the CZO but I'm almost positive it's there.

I'm fairly certain it is a moot point as that proposal was never close to moving forward (as much as I wish it would).

Also if I recall the Support was going to have capsules traveling along it and was billed as an attraction for the park.

the last official word we heard from the alderman is that there will be a public meeting to unveil the new plan sometime in the 1st quarter of this year, so anytime between now and easter.

I recently chatted with a reliable source. New proposal looks similar in design with a revamped podium and significant height cut.

Their website has been teasing us with all those stunning renderings for over a year now. I suspect the revised design won't deviate that much from these renderings, because otherwise the developers would be embarrassing themselves. The renderings clearly show that it will be taller than the 843 ft One Bennett Park, so I bet the new design will remain visibly taller than 843 ft, probably at least 900 ft. But yeah, it's possible that it will no longer be a supertall, *SIGH*.
