Solid update as per usual! Personally I'm not a fan of dark buildings in general, but each to his own! Keep up the good work!

As the Navajo are located in northern parts of Arizona, I located Navaho Springs there. Lastly I decided that this city will have a Tucson feel. At that point I didn't do my homework well, and didn't check whether a city looking like Tucson could exist in North Arizona. As I want this to be quite realistic SU city, I will relocate Navaho Springs to South Arizona.

As for the name, I'm quite attached to Navaho Springs, so I won't change it. Why Navaho? Well, here in Finland both forms are used, and I wrongly assumed that that's the case in US as well. Why two forms, I don't know, but now that I think of it, I'm guessing it has to do something with the fact that in Finland the word Navaho is pronounced like you pronounce the word Navajo - as Finnish is pronounced exactly as it is written.
Why don't you replace the palm trees (which provide zippo shade) with pines and leave the city in Northern Arizona? You could even situate it on the edge of the Colorado River near the Grand Canyon, at the top of the plateau (not the bottom, there's no room for a city of any size down at the bottom of the Canyon. I've always thought that northern Arizona should have had a larger metro area than Flagstaff (city pop. 75,000, metro pop. 150,000).

Thanks! Mies van der Rohe is my favorite architect, so I had to put one copycat building in Navaho Springs as well.

I will look into this and see how it looks. Is there other elements in current Navaho Springs that wouldn't fit in a North Arizona city?

Don't worry, guys, I'm still around. I'm taking a break from Navaho Springs and modeling something else. It's not a city nor even a skyscraper, but I will present it here, once it's finished. I guess that will take weeks, though, since I don't have much time... plus it will be very detailed.

Thanks, sad face! I might share it when I'm finished with it, but not just yet About the pines: I decided to move NS to southern Arizona. Northern Arizona look would have been cool as well, but I couldn't find any decent pine models. Plus I like the palm tree look.

Nice I live in southern Arizona, there are no pines there, by the way would a bordertown do good? I know it says my location as phoenix but i actually live close to a town near Tucson.

Azrocks, thank you very much!

Flamesrule, there are about half a million people in Navaho Springs.

Well, my future home isn't finished yet, but I wanted to return to Navaho Springs for a while. Here's the Rex Theater at the northwest corner of Arizona Avenue and Jefferson Street. It was opened in 1942 and instantly became the most popular movie theater in Navaho Springs. It's heyday was in the 40's and 50's, but in the 60's it looked like it would wither, as the downtown was turning into a all-corporate zone. The turning point for its decline was the year 1974 when the shopping center in the base of the VanAlen Building was opened and people again started to spend their spare time in downtown area. In the 90's and 00's even more emphasis has been put on the vibrancy of downtown area. Today the Rex Theater is perhaps the most popular theater in Navaho Springs. The CineMultiplex in Mudflats Mall outside the city is the biggest and most modern movie theater but the Rex Theater still has the most central location.

Here's a view from Jefferson Street looking southwest.

Jefferson Street looking northeast.

Jefferson Street looking northwest.
