What is the timeline for the new MCI terminal?

I just wanted to share this article, I am sure KC is on the list as well when Norwegian gets the A321LR. This article is from Scotland so I figure Dublin is just as likely for places like Memphis and KC. London Gatwick maybe just a bit too far.

Here in Kansas City we vote on any and everything. although this is completely privately funded we have to vote on it because the vocal minority believes that the current setup is more convenient. It'll happen but it's a couple years out, nothing is set in stone yet.

This is my least favorite project that i've seen go up in KC in my entire time being here. I HATE it.

Mouth agog

OMG, WHAT is happening here?? It's crazy to me that a site plan like this was built. I'm a coastal elite, but still...

If that is the master plan for the Cerner project, it looks like Parking Lot City.

^ Gosh, it is looking wrong. Please, do something about this... Dammit, riot if needed!
Nah, that's a bad joke.

Try fireworks at night in front of the developer home if needed... Every night. You guys do a turnover to leave them restless. Lol

Just don't let them build their plain parking lots! That is impossible today. Trees they're showing off on their rendering ain't enough to correct it.

Thanks. This is probably the only time I will see it haha. I appreciate keeping the jobs in Missouri, but that's the only good thing I can say about it.

that is a disaster of a site plan, even for the midwest. most new class A suburban developments that large in the midwest seem to have structured/sheltered parking and often a mixed use component walkable to the office space, even if it is a strip mall.

I'm still somewhat convinced that those buildings in that rendering are a bit undersized from reality.

Not that I'm defending the site plan, just saying.

Hmmm ...

Developer moves a ‘lot’ closer to starting downtown tower
Quote:
A Copaken Brooks affiliate has acquired a city-owned parking lot at the southeast corner of 12th Street and Grand Boulevard. Jon Copaken said the acquisition was necessary for its plan to develop a 10-story, 270,000-square foot mixed-use building — or perhaps something more grandiose — in that block.
Not that it's gonna end up looking like this, but anyway ...

Wait, hold you opinions until they surround it with 80 acres of black asphalt.

Here is an actual rendering of the new building. I think that they should wait until they have a real tenant and not just plop some 10 story pile in there to say that they did something. This is the most prominent slab in our downtown and it should be treated as such.

Man, for real. I'm not sure they could fit any more parking lots into this if they tried. Awful.

Thanks twan. But that's a pretty boring design.
