Also, 181 has about 4 architects. Specifically, the lobby was not designed by HMA.
Go back and look at the history of those projects with their original HMA designs that were later rescued by other firms. They were all much discussed here over the years.

I am certain that Heller Manus is as aware, or even more aware than we are of the past. Be thankful that things have turned out for the better because of it.

No need to go back, I worked there. So I know what was going on. It is fun however to see people speculate about what they think is happening

^^Cool! Theyve started the glass installation on the condo floors (above the "amenity" floors that separate the commercial from the residential sections of the building). Since that is straight forward and formulaic, it should go fast and soon we will see a fully glazed building.

This $665 million skyscraper in San Francisco will be the tallest residential building on the West Coast

Gold plated door handles, Brazilian quartz countertops, Italian marble bathrooms, hovering museum- style walls, at $2,400 psf, the residences in this tower start at $3 million and sell for double the SF median home average (never heard of a median average before, but I'm just gonna go with "expensive").

Photos from one of the model units:

Oh and, Millennium Tower eat your heart out, this one's bolted to bedrock

Cool. Must be nice to be rich as hell. Though if I were wealthy I think I would still consider gold-plated door handles to be tacky and unnecessary lol

The marble in that bathroom gives me a feeling of being inside some insectoid alien spaceship.

Top third glass should go up rapidly now (if the weather stays decent--seems like it held things up for the last week):

and seems as if it is--they have put up a row on the south side since yesterday:

This is really an amazing tower. This and Oceanwide Center will put SF in the running for top 5 skylines worldwide. Salesforce Tower was a blown opportunity but at least it's neutral.

^^Please let up on Salesforce Tower. Most of us here do not share your opinion but we are certainly well aware of it by now. The repetition of your criticism, and especially your saxual fantasies, are getting very annoying.

While I am glad to have almost anything that's 800+ ft tall built in San Francisco, the external skeleton meme is pretty well worn since they did it for the John Hancock Center in 1965 and so I'm not as awed by 181 as you seem to be and much more pleased with a sleek, modern, form-at-service-of-function tower like Salesfore.
