Yes. One is perfect. Three would have been like 20 seasons of the Walking Dead.

The attachment to the permit contains an application for the placement of a crane. Maybe they are removing the spires while the crane is in use next door.

HAIF doesn't know either. Maybe something to do with heli-pads? Memorial added a pretty significant heli-pad operation on their new tower nearby as I remember posting the renderings/updates.

Hat tip to Highrise Tower on HAIF

The patch of dirt on the left of the core TMC shows the scale of the TMC3 project.

This is a professional building with offices and out-patient facilities so I doubt they would need a helipad. Memorial is the busiest Level 1 trauma center in the country so they need the extra helipads.

Sorry, I meant the antennas are being removed to accommodate Memorial's "air space" or "flight patterns" due to the major expansion. Just a guess.

My Dad lived about 3/4 mile from that building. You could see it from his front yard, and at night it was beautiful.

Someone should run out and grab some photos of it before they circumcise it.

I would be an interesting building if were taller, like 800 ft. I am surprised it is not mixed use, given the area next to the park.

I guess it is just offices. I tink it blocks out the little hotel near there...

So, are they going to tear down the hideous Embassy Suites at Discovery Green? I sure hope so, even though its only about ten years old.

Well, glad it will be covered up from the park at least.

Maybe it needs like... some penthouses... that would be a nice view.

I will be coming back to the area in the next week or two and plan on taking a ton of photos since my DSLR is working properly again.

I'd seen a recent photo on reddit from the Sidney Sherman bridge over the Ship Channel showing the blending of the skylines from the east. I wanted to add it to the thread but can't seem to find it anymore. Did find this one from the west side though...

Based on the location, it looks like it's at an apartment complex near the intersection of Eldridge and Memorial. It misses some substantial towers that you can see from the Grand Parkway / Katy Freeway elevated portion that are behind the photographer, but it still gives a decent sampling from out west.

From this view Memorial City is about 4 miles away, Uptown 9.5 miles, Greenway/UK 11 miles, TMC 14 Miles & Downtown 15 Miles.

What a great picture! It's been a while since we had a skyline shot like that.
