Yeah it looks so good! Even the window frames are 3D. I like the unfinished render. It looks tight.

what rendering method do you use? (path tracing-progressive, photon map+medium, etc.?)

And now as a desperate attempt at injecting some sort of culture into our white asses comes The Infinity Well.
Money represents power and success, Designers say the donations to the well bring good wealth to the whole city because the 'vibes' are magnified by the water and dispersed through the holes in the roof structure and distributed through the city.
Every building in the city will be in sight of the well,
At the least, it will be visible through a reflection in another buildings glass. This will influence every buildings planning and design.

Staff are making last minute touch ups early on opening day.

Peter, I don't do much to the glass, i just add reflections.
treras i use path tracing only just to save time.
I edited that pic that wasn't finished on the other page.
Not many things have names yet. I'll do that stuff a bit later.

n thanks

That's so tight. And the buildings look amazing too. Do you make each block components and hide them so your computer doesn't run slow?

Thanks guys.
This design is something i've had in my head for a while but wasn't sure how to apply it. Maybe it could be used as a stadium roof

Aleks ,yep. But this one unlike SSP city, The buildings are seperate components and the land is all 'editable'(?). I just open 2 windows of SU, 1 is the city and 2 is just for editing.
I copy and paste the part i need to edit from the city into the 2nd SU window, then copy and paste it back into the city when i'm done.

If anyone wants to do a sketch a design for the city , i'd be happy to create it.

The structure's fine the scale it is, it's just beautiful. I'm guessing you softened it with KT not SKUP amirite?

I just noticed, it's actually a geodesic dome, like the ones Bucky Fuller invented. I wanted to use one of those for my convention center.

Its actually softened in SU I have to use geo's or the file would be huge with so many intersections
If it were an asymmetrical oval it would have looked too smooth also i reckon, I like the roughness like a rock.

I think that it would have more of an impact if it was in a central park or in a plaza in front of city hall.

It does look fragile but in 2020 we have made great weight reducing materials. It is pretty much the same guy wire design of Sydney tower just a little thinner in the core (15m diameter)and the wires run down a titanium exoskeleton (the ridges you can see) The wires run to the base which is 25 metres bleow ground.

The tower is for observation and can only hold 160 people at a time. Up top there are two viewing levels which are set back from the windows and runs within 3 metres of the core (2 circular walkways around the core) The base of the top is all glass, This offers 360 degree views x 120 degree vertical view (the night stars and city lights @400m all in one view would be awesome) The overhanging weight of the top is around 13 tonnes (tons?) only.

The building cost - $ 200 million !!! (2008 prices)

Thanks Boise -But I doubt it !!
