Once I quit eating wheat I stopped being medicated for ADHD. My brain could function on a semi normal level and I wasn't always exhausted.

As for why it seems to be more prevalent now, I don't think it's more common, it's simply being diagnosed. The change in cultural awareness since I was diagnosed in my 20's has been massive.

I hear you about the croissant cravings. I literally used to have nightmares that I was eating donuts and then realized part way through what I was doing. At this point I've simply come to accept it for what it is. I have no idea how I would react today if glutened. Probably pretty violently.
Definitely - my onset was comical.

I woke up on a Thursday morning (literally remember the day of the week) with unbearable sciatic pain in my hip area.

I figured I had slipped a disk or similar and it flared up overnight. I couldn't walk or get out of bed.

Xrays, CAT scans, etc later. and no one could diagnose anything.

Ultimately its arthritis that I have, but the flare ups are clearly and directly linked to consuming wheat.

That sucks. Sorry to hear it. It’s crazy how it can effect your entire body and system. My wife and brother experienced eczema and my father in law developed severe fibromyalgia before cutting gluten. Also my wife’s old boss who was celiac but diagnosed in her 50’s developed cancer and died. It seems to cause inflammation which can trigger all kinds of nasty side effects.

Indeed - the root cause is inflammation via leaky gut.

Inflammation is turning out be incredibly damaging to our systems health. Its brutal.

Sorry I missed this. What did you think (historical inaccuracies aside)? I would recommend watching Mallrats and Good Will Hunting for other Affleck films. He plays a douche in both films.

Yeah, undiagnosed Celiac disease seems to inevitably lead to shortened lifespan and or worse auto immune diseases. Also seems like a high number develop colon or other related cancers.

I watched Argo about a month ago, for the first time. I thought it was really good.

Dazed and Confused is another one. I also enjoyed The Sum of All Fears, though many didn't like it as much as other films based on Tom Clancy novels. Another movie he was in that was panned, but I thought was fun, is Smokin' Aces.

I did not like his rendition of Batman though.

Indeed. My sister was diagnosed with celiac disease as a baby but for some reason ignored the diet - possibly because in the 1970s it was too difficult. She died from colon cancer in her early 40s.

I found it really good, I don't know the actual story so any inaccuracies were lost on me.

I do really enjoy GWH, but my favourite Affleck movie is The Town, where he's part of a gang of bank robbers in Boston. Jeremy Renner is in it too.

I'll have to check out Mallrats.

Really sorry to hear that. It's a horrible thing to have and the consequences of not dealing with it are severe.

I completely forgot about that one! Much better than I expected.

Speaking of The Accountant this Affleck mood could be anybody watching Alberta's Covid numbers RN.

No love for Gigli?

BA's movies are generally very good. I really liked The Town, GWH, and Argo.

Never saw Gigli for obvious reasons lol! The only terrible movies I willingly watch are either Nick Cage or Horror movies or both combined.

As for the Affleck movie where he best embodies his true Dunkin Donuts depressed self, I think Gone Girl is it. Great film.

Saw an ad for a new Affleck / Damon movie over the weekend that looks terrible. It's called 'The Last Duel' and features Ben with ROFO/DOFO style blond hair.

It also has Matt Damon with a Mullet:

Looks like the joke of Ben going "Shakespeare"playing Henry VIII on Family Guy will soon be a thing And I look forward to it regardless of the direction! I almost enjoy a Paycheck or Gigli as much as an Argo!
