The "Midtown Wall" is really becoming imposing (in a good way).

Fantastic photo of our booming city

What a shot! And to think that if all proposed projects complete, there will be at least another 8 towers ranging from 10 floors to 61 floors in that view 24 months from now and there are probably other proposals I'm forgetting. Amazing boom!

One thing I worry about with this wall forming along The Connector, what happens if/when it gets capped? Won't all of those buildings want to have a more hospitable face fronting the park? It reminds me of The American Cancer Society building downtown, which has a full block of curb cuts and loading docks fronting Centennial Olympic Park. It's not the most pedestrian friendly environment to walk.

Also, it just dawned on me that the blocks on W. Peachtree and Spring streets between 10th and 12th will see a major transformation with the proposal for the 60-story building diagonal from the new Google tower, the condos/apartments adjacent to that, and the Portman projects. It makes you wonder what could possibly be in the works for the old TBS building and daycare. Warner Media is in the process of merging with Discovery, and this chunk of land feels like the right spot for a possible expansion of the Techwood offices and studios once CNN vacates CNN Center in a couple of years.

They can always be retrofitted when the time comes.

I hope that Hilton next door has a plan to remodel because it's going to look like a Motel 8 next to the hotel portion of this development.

1020 Video Realism

The Realism in that Vimeo video is quite impressive. I would swear that I'm looking at the real deal.

This might be the best mixed use of all the recent, nice ones we've had! The office component has certainly grown on me. I love it. The apartment tower is fine, although I think the site demands better and taller. I think the hotel will be very nice fronting that historic garden.

Although it can only be seen from one side of the development, one of my favorite aspects of this project is the preservation of the historic funeral home and gardens.

It definitely sets the development apart.

Absolutely!

I think most longtime Atlanta folks have attended services at H. M. Patterson & Son; I would have been really upset if they were demolished. So happy to see the site-thoughtful mixed use they're doing.
