Fresh rumor: Georgia may be getting another >$5B EV factory. Looks like Hyundai may build a EV factory here. No word on location but have heard SAV area is most likely. Will have to wait and see what pans out (if and where) with finger crossed. Hopefully it will be in the metro area.

That's a big win for Savannah. That region is already growing at a good clip.

Makes sense since they'll be building a version for the European markets, easy to move to the port and ship em out.

I don't think 4,000 workers is that impressive when you consider the location and the infrastructure around it. There was the potential for thousands of residents alone. Hopefully it will inspire more walkable development nearby.

This has to be one of the tallest buildings in Dekalb County, right? Maybe behind 3 Ravinia and 1001 Perimeter Summit? The new State Farm Building?

According to Emporis the new Hospital will be 230.63 ft.

That would rank 8th in Dunwoody alone. Not sure if anything else in DeKalb is taller. Somerset Heights is right there with it.

So 8th or 9th in DeKalb, I believe.

It definitely makes a big impact, especially when you haven't been on 85 north in a while.

I suspect at least one, but probably both, of those numbers are incorrect. The hospital height is almost certainly wrong. Medical centers tend to have very high floor-to-ceiling heights. 19 stories at 230 ft equates to ~12 feet per floor - low for an office building, let alone a modern hospital. 15ft is a more reasonable lower bound and would put the building closer to 300 ft. Conversely, the given height for the Somerset seems a little on the high side given that it is a res tower with no indications of unusually high ceilings (such as you might find in a loft or luxury apartment tower). The fact that listed heights for the two buildings in Emporis match to 2 decimal points is also more than a little suspicious and makes me think a simple algorithm is used to generate heights in the absence of real data.

Wow, the scale of that Doraville Gray studio complex is massive. For comparison I live near the new DeNiro-backed Wildflower Studios in Astoria, Queens which, at about 750,000 sq ft, is packed into a few acres.
