I’m routinely disappointed to see such lame towers for Miami. I love that city, and it warrants better architecture.

Beautiful towers for Miami. I enjoy the modernist lines of the balconies, the very clean glass, and the practical efficiency that are all well suited for Miami's sunny climate and beachy image.

The density and walkability of this new development will be a massive game changer for downtown Miami.

The question is how many cities build outstanding residential towers though?
Maybe Dubai? Hong Kong? Chicago? I do agree that Miami with its natural setting warrants better architecture and you can see that right across the bay in Sunny Isles.

At the end of the day, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. There seems to be a notion that every tower must be stellar or worthy of being placed on the "art"ictecture pedestal, but its not an Olympic game. Winners, some losers, but at the end of the day, fortunately, the folks that approve and allow such developments in their city don't have such a bouchée and picture-perfect taste. If they did, most stuff wouldn't get approved. Likewise with most cities. If it be Miami or NY or Washington D.C., nothing would get built if pure visual bliss was to be expected. Functionality and usage is key, and goes hand-in-hand with demand, hence why these towers rise.

Miami does have a handful of winners though, both complete or u/c or in the pipeline.

Pound for pound, its still putting out the units and developments. Might be seen as an underdog, but its punching above its weight class, thats for damn sure.

NY builds loads of masterpiece residential towers.

In many respects, Miami is my favorite city. I’ve beem going there for decades. However, I think that it’s a shame that Miami is building so many boring towers.

Yea, Miami needs some more icons. I think the world center buildings are OK here, but if they can attract people to live/spend in the downtown area, they will probably come eventually.

so, it looks like the towers will be built where the legendary Space nightclub is now. Im certain that the neighborhood will welcome the towers with open arms just so they no longer have to listen to the boom, boom, boom, of party-goers every weekend.

Miami has gotten a few great towers (e.g., Zaha's Museum Tower, Flatiron, Infinity, etc.), but it deserves more.

No, the Space nightclub is a couple of blocks west of where these towers will be build.

The height limit in this location is 706 FT MSL.

They could request a rezone amendment from city planning/council to exceed the required zoning. Happens all the time. FAA I expect to approve this as well, and it shouldn't be a big problem adding a little extra to the current limitations.

Miami Worldcenter, which spans 27 acres, is being developed by Art Falcone, Nitin Motwani and Dan Kodsi. It is one of the largest commercial real estate projects on the East Coast.
