Every time I see this project I realize that I had forgotten how sweet it is.

I wish the first post of this thread still had the original proposal with the revisions below it. Anyone know what was first put forward back in 2008?

Plans for this site, post movie theater/fire, go back further then 2008. PPA had all sorts of pie in the sky ideas, all included massive parking.

Knowing Summers usually wipes out the history/evolution in the first post, I tried to keep it. This is actually on the first page as noted by GtownFriend. Some images don't show up anymore.

The developer needs to make it upscale to make up the $36.7M they paid for the lot.

This is going to be a stunner. And totally activate Sansom St etc. I love that it's not just about Walnut Street.

I like the final design of the Laurel. More classy looking at the base and the crown of the bldg and off course the activation of Samson street. Just wish they would pick up the pace on this one. It's been a snail's pace for the underpinnings and excavation before the mat foundation.

Because of the nature of the site there's no wiggle room for shortcuts, but now that most or all of the underpinning is complete and the tower crane is up, the pace should pick up substantially.

Busy day for concrete...they're pouring over at the Arthaus as well.

Did they not put rebar down at the Laurel?

Yeah, I was wondering about that too. Like they were just pouring over dirt. I thought it was be crushed stone and rebar before pouring.

Any concrete expert now what's going on?
