Im jealous of Russia, especially its 600m beast, but happy that proper skycrapers are appearing in EU capitals. However I think its important that they appear in groups, ie not a 300m tower in middle of 50m buildings..

London better hurry, its getting left behind..

It is the same agency of architects
But Axa tower is a renovation of an old building
An extra height of 66 meters will be added at this old tower

Axa tower now built in 1974 159m

Axa tower in 2009 225m

impressive isn't it ?

Ah, so they're increasing the height of the current building rather than constructing a totally new one? I didn't know that...

I'm not a too big fan of really tall skyscrapers in the inner City Districts of European capitals.
But the Quality of the single buildings is very high, way better that other towers in other Cities.
Wow indeed. That pic of the Leadenhall beside the Gherkin gives some indication of the sheer density of the City area.

Gosh London is surpassing itself. What a city

Bratislava - update

About Bratislava, Slovakia, the highest existing building is Kamzik TV Tower, 200 m. There is another skyscraper proposed, called Twin City with height about 50 m more than current skyscrapers, so maybe 150-170 m, I guess.

^^ interesting... you know better, I suppose, although the site does not say this; I just naturally assumed that the hight is given above the ground level. Actually, it is 62 floors above the ground (plus 5 underground levels), so it is likely to be around 275m.

And speaking of 275 m... The Naberezhnaja Tower C, now quoted as 56 floors 252m appears to have reached about 250 m by the central core alone, with projected number of floors of at least 60, and hight around 270 m. Looks like the final hight has been increased during construction.

This is Feb 02 status by masik from SCC:

However the complete list of all proposed/approuved/built top ten towers in Milan should be that

Milan, Italy
1 - Torre "Isozaki", CityLife : 220 m (approuved)

2 - Milanone, Area D3 : 212 m (proposed)

3 - Torre "Hadid", CityLife : 185 m (approuved)

4 - Torre 2, Area D3 : 185 (?) m (proposed)

5 - Torre Varesine 1 : 175 (?) m (approuved)

6 - Torre "Libeskind", Citylife : 170 m (approuved)

7 - Regione Lombardia : 160 m (u/c)

8 - Torre Hines 1 : 145 m (approuved)

9 - Torre Varesine 2 : 130 m (approuved)

10 - Pirelli Building : 127 m (built: 1956)

To add at the list as existing towers (but not skyscrapers) should be:
- Telecom Italia Tower : 180 m
- Rai Television Tower : 145 m

For the future there are many "undefined" projects which can change the top ten; two of them surely are Milan Municipality tower that should have a minimum high of 150 m (they should do an international competition) and Milan Expo 2015 Tower (I think its construction there will be just in the case Milan would host the Expo) just presented in the project for the Expo as the new symbol of the city that should be projected by an international competition: from the renderings it seems to be approximately 600 m (!) high

Hi!! I'm new here.

I've news for new milan towers.

Isozaky tower: 218 m

torre varesine 1: 140 m

torre varesine 2 "diamond": 130 m

regione lombardia: 167 m

Torre hines or ex city of fashon tower: 215 m

Gilli Hotel: 95/100 m this is new

torre varesine 3 : 100 m this is new
