^ This almost brings a tear to my eye. Block 23 is the heart of Downtown and it screwed up a lot of synergy while it was a surface/underground parking lot. Great pic and view!

So we go a memo today the project will take approximately 2 years. The first phase going on right now is reinforcing the building structure in the parking garage under the structure.

According to recent permits files with Phoenix, the future Collier residences now have a new name: Adeline Luxury Apartments.

Not sure I like that name...especially when these are supposed to be condo's. Hopefully, it's just a temp name.

What a bummer. Was really hoping for condos here...

Drove by yesterday and they seem to be working at a steady clip especially on the empty retail portions of colliers

The difference between condos and luxury apartments here is legal. This is a high quality concrete and steel build that can be either.

I'd rather it be rentals anyways as that will mean people on the streets rather than investment properties that might not even be occupied or empty-nesters that aren't likely to enjoy the bars and nightclubs in the area.

I dunno - anymore empty apartments are put out on AirBnb by the property mgmt company. They wouldn’t necessarily do this with empty condos. This is the case for the W6 Tower in Tempe and the apartments around the Watermark. I’ve had co-workers from out of town stay at both places.

Are AirBNB units that bad? I can understand a bit of it is corporate travel but generally speaking these are wanting to go on vacation comfortably.

I would much rather AirBNB at a place that has a full kitchen if I were going to be longer than a few days.

Hines tower is intended to be market-rate luxury, for rent apartments not condos. Sorry folks!

Well, we discussed this actually 1 page back and articles that had been posted specifically stated condo's. I haven't read anything that said that had changed. But I guess having a name now says it has changed. Either way, I don't really care as long as we are getting another tower in a much-needed location.

It's not a great name, but I'd take it over yet another The development. The Cameron. The Lofts. The Broadstone.

I get it's a minor complaint, but I give credit to places like Tempe Union and Oliv for at least breaking that trend.

I want to see a resurgence of the Arms, Court, or Manor suffixes myself.

Those should have never fallen out of favor. Jefferson Arms or Third Street Manor would have been awesome. At least we have Palm Court down the street.

I think people were a bit concerned that this would just be a parking Garage but with all the work they are doing on the neighboring building I think they plan to have this tower completed.

They are really moving quick on the Demo after taking quite a while on the permitting process.

Hines received a loan for the tower. Expect this to go as soon as the partial garage demo is completed.
