Wondering whether it might be worth your effort to colour-code by development type (Dark red for completed commercial, Dark blue for completed transport, Dark green for residential under 5 stories and Dark Purple for residential over 5 stories, for example or something like that, with colours getting lighter for developments that are under construction or proposed)?

Great Effort! Thanks for that!

Thank you! I love getting suggestions on how I can potentially make the site better. I appreciate the time you took to share your thoughts. I will take this into consideration.

More details on Carlisle Suites (downtown St. Catharines) available:

-19 storeys
-220 dwelling units (180 1-bedroom, 40 2-bedroom). It appears that 28 of these rooms (the whole 2nd floor) will be used as student dormitories, perhaps for nearby Brock University downtown campus.
-3 commercial units (all ground floor)

Donatelli excited to take on Rodman Hall

Nino Donatelli has a passion for buying and restoring old buildings in St. Catharines, from major brownfields to minor facelifts.
But Rodman Hall is something special all on its own.
“I love old buildings. To have one of the most gorgeous, iconic buildings in St. Catharines and to somehow be responsible for its look and controlling it ... I thought The Keg and the Stone Mill were nice buildings, but this is absolutely iconic,” Donatelli said.
“The more I read, the more I fall in love with the building and the history.”
The new owner of the 19th-century building on St. Paul Crescent hopes to convince arts groups to use it and then he hopes to construct some low-rise residential housing on the outskirts of the property, which overlooks Twelve Mile Creek.
Donatelli is responsible for massive restorations in the Merritton area in the past 20 years, fixing up a dilapidated rubber plant and turning it into The Keg on Glendale Avenue and the 19th-century Lybster Mill across the street into Stone Mill Inn.
A smaller project involved some minor improvements to Merritton Town Hall on Merritt Street in 2016 and in the ’80s he fixed up the Port Mansion in Port Dalhousie’s commercial core.

Wow, that'll add some density! Looking forward to adding this one into my Niagara Falls future skyline model.

Jarvis Street development to be subject of Fort Erie public meeting
By Richard Hutton
Niagara This Week
Friday, January 8, 2021

Residents will have a chance to have their say on a mixed-use development proposed for Jarvis Street.

Proponent Jagjit Sandhu and architect Jason Pizzicarola will present the proposal to build a five-storey building that will feature 34 dwelling units along with 198 square metres of commercial space on the main floor. The pair are looking for council to approve a rezoning request to accommodate the project, that will be located at 80-84 and 94 Jarvis. The proponents wish to add a special policy area designation to the lands located on the north side of Jarvis that would allow for the increased height. Under the current zoning, building height is restricted to a maximum of three storeys... [Snip]

I drove by on the QEW the other day and noticed they moved the sales centre from the LJM tower site in Stoney Creek to here.

Beamsville update

1) Utopia condos by New Horizon, 6 storey building behind Sobeys

Renderings:

From last week by New Horizon:

From today:

And just for fun, this is the kind of nimby stuff Niagara Region embraces around development (also for the record, there's no cedars nor any brooks along the street)

2) The Jacob, recently completed off Alyssa Dr by Emshih Development and Brouwer Construction with 118 seniors units, some assisted living home

3) The Bench at Ontario and Hwy 8

Renders are extremely different from what was originally marketed:

from today

Great updates, thanks for sharing @thomax and @johnnyhamont! @johnnyhamont do you mind if I feature some of your photos on a hobby site I run (niagaradev.ca)? If so, what name would you like me to give the photo credit to? And also what date were the photos taken? Thanks

Thanks. The renderings are from their respective project websites so those pictures can be credited to those places. Same with the New Horizon photo from last week.
The ones I took were taken on Feb 1 and you can just credit johnnyhamont. Thanks for keeping up that site!
