Reminds me of a small airport terminal. Beautiful structure, too bad the food sucks.

Wow that's damn nice.

They have some McDonalds in Vancouver which I've always thought were impressive. But not like that.

Check out this McDonald's in Oak Brook, a suburb of Chicago. That's where McDs is headquartered and I guess this is the corporate office store.

These pictures are from a google search.

I've heard McDonalds is embarking on a renovation of its restaurants to make them more inviting and hopefully attract people who would like to stay for a while and read a book, work on their laptops, etc., such as starbucks.

That KFC is indeed a nice and modern design. I was inside a KFC in Cape Town, South Africa, and it had a really nice, comfortable and modern interior (it was located in the bottom floor of an office building, so the exterior wasn't the type that could altered).

Too bad the food at both McDonalds and KFC is crap.

Indeed. I'd expect a "true viking" to know better. Scandinavia is a subset of the Nordic States, of which Iceland is a part.

Yeah, our McDonald's have fireplaces, and some are L shaped, with a family/kids area in on part and a quieter sitting down area on the other.

I'm perfectly fine with trueviking saying that Iceland is a Scandinavian country. The culture, language and history is there. I have always consideres Iceland a Scandinavian country.
Finland is another story though.

Denmark and Iceland (aparently) are the only KFC-countries in Scandinavia.

You're probably thinking of Blair Kamin's little crush, the retro mega McDonald's on Ohio.
