Kaohsiung City Hall

Kaohsiung City Hall

Picture taken right after WWII...hence, one can see that the right wing of the building was destroyed by the American bombing. Years later, after KMT government took over the control of the government , there was no plan to restore the building...hence the demolition of the entire complex.

This set of presidential office is right on the money!! I guess the difference between you and the other Taiwanese photographers is that you would not mind the "surroundings."

By that I mean, the guards, taboo tomb stones or perhaps hidden monitor cams at government facilities that we don't know. I can tell you that perhaps the past tyrants ruling in Taiwan still somehow haunted me, whenever I see those guards, the only thought cross my mind would be to quickly walk-by.

There is no law that prevents you from taking the pictures at these places that I know of. Nonetheless, the seriousness surrounding atmosphere created in these sites normally would put a stop to people from wanting to take the "close-up" photos of the buildings. It's all in our minds I must admit. Nonetheless, you and your master photo skill had definitely prevailed and overcame the whatsoever obstacles may be. Props to u!~

Wow, they are beauty indeed. Especially the president's residence building. I could only think of Seoul city hall, Seoul station in my head for Seoul.
