March 2nd 2005. Another pic by Cityrain the guy who started the WFC thread on the cameraunion forum. Many thanks to him for providing us with all these foused infos.

Finally the tower starts to rise. Let's hope some changes have been made since its infamous rendering surfaced.

March 18th 2005. The core is begining to rise. Soon we shall be able to see construction progress from the Bund too.
Not many changes in the Shanghai Bank Building cladding.

February 25th 2005, from the Oriental Pearl (by moyan808). Lots of informations on this photo.

First floor of the Merryland core.
On the Jasper tower plot, underground floors seem to be under construction, too bad we don't see more.
Construction has definitively resumed on the Gran Melia plot too.
The cladding of the AZIA center top is different from the rest, isn't it.
Look at those cleared plots, north to the soon relocated ship yard, I wonder what has been planned for this big area. An extension of the Lujiazui zone adding density to in the background of the 90s first towers would be ideal but when I walked there, I saw some recent residentials (both midrises and lowrises) so I'm not sure this will be planned as a CBD, not even the closer part to Lujiazui.

March 24th 2205, from WaiTan. See the crane ? It gives an indication of the building impact on that cluster density. The AZIA Center should not look isolated no more when the Merryland building, The Development and Jasper towers will be completed.

April 8th 2005, from the podium of the Oriental Pearl. This view helps figuring out the impact of this new tower on the block density from this angle.

Wow, already above ground. This one should go quickly. On another note, it seems like they're taking their sweet time on the Shanghai Bank building...

I can't see the core.
Just two cranes in the gap between the oriental pearl and the cluster of skyscrapers on its right.

^ Just against the Shanghai Bank building, at the right of the crane. It is not very high yet.

It's strange, the metallic structure does not fit the floor plan at the corners.

MAY BE THE BUILDING WILL BE DIFFERENT FROM THE INFAMOUS RENDERING THAT SURFACED OUT MOUNTHS AGO !!

May 11th 2005.

http://image2.xitek.com/forum/200505/545/54574/54574_1115809098.jpg

On the plot behind, I think the Gran Melia hotel is rising above ground too. Soon the Jasper tower, then the Hopson, later the Development tower (what's new about the exciting X3-2 tower and the Pelli twins ?) : many changes to come in Lujiazui in the next mounths.

This area never seems to stop. Very exciting stuff going on, and for quite some time into the future, it seems.
