Sydney Opal Tower: Thousands evacuated after 'crack

https://www.bbc.com/news/world-australia-46671811

As many as 3,000 people have been evacuated after residents of a newly completed tower block in Australia reported hearing "cracking noises".
That's quite scary, does this sort of thing happen often?

It will happen as the years go by.
The question is, if there is a solution.

No - this is very unique, the building was just finished, the crack is several cm. People were trapped in their units when the doors bound in the warping frames.
