West Campus towers all look like someone took an overdesigned mid-rise along the high-line in NYC and then value engineered it with legos.
Still, West Campus density is awesome and it's responsible for keeping campus and student stuff on and around campus so I'll take it. There was a point 20 years ago where students basically dominated a full 30% of the land area of Austin.
I don't mind it. It reminds me of Nordic architecture. I don't know how good the interiors are and if that's up to snuff, but the exterior designs remind me a lot of European architecture.
I think neighborhoods like this are fun because of the weird buildings. They're not in an overly prominent location, and proximity to college campuses, etc., can mesh with the already weird vibes next to a college, which can be fun. Even if it diversifies with non-students living there more and more, it's just part of the DNA of that area. Not a problem for me.
