It may be going slowly but it looks like the roof is almost on. I'm really looking forward to seeing this one come together. Hopefully it will have nice glass on the upper floors and they'll do a good job of restoring the old facades. They'll look much better when they are cleaned up and windows are put in. I could also see them attracting some pretty nice retail tenants given the ones that moved into the Carsand Mosher building. In the future I hope there will be a better mix of tenants so there's more of a normal turnover instead of the feeling that there are always gaps that need to be filled. Having modern spaces instead of older buildings will probably help with that.

It certainly has been slow. But finally we can see the final form of the renovation. The top two floors will give a more consistent street-level height along Barrington Street.

Maybe they will speed things up so that it will be closed off for the two coldest winter months of January and February.

It is interesting to compare the current progress with the design plans - http://www.starfishproperties.ca/bar...ngton_pres.pdf. The top two floors will be an impressive layout for tenants.

One wonders if Starfish hired the 5 Moes to work on this project.

It has been almost six weeks since the last picture. I don't expect that anyone has any recent pictures but has anyone noticed windows being installed or other significant progress?

No significant structural differences, but they were taking down the scaffolding tonight when I was out wandering around, looks to be probably done by now, or they'll finish it up in the AM.

A guy was jet-washing the facades last Saturday when I went past. Makes it look a little better. Still no windows though

This project is like the classic car in your Dad's garage. More like a weekend project.

Interesting. The lintels on the left facade went from being light to dark, apparently from the pressure washing. I guess they are made out of dark stone.

I am jealous of the sunny weather.

I'm jealous of the above-freezing temperatures ...

It's not even Halloween and I'm already sick of looking at snow.

Thanks for the updates

Thank you very much for making a special effort to take a picture SekishikiMeikaiHa. Comparing your 2012/10/26 and 2012/9/14 pictures I can't see much that has happened in the past 6 weeks (I can understand why you haven't been posting regular updates). Jstaleness's analogy is a good one (its like a weekend classic car project - and right not they are looking for some rare car part that they just can't seem to locate).

I took a look today when I walked past. It's black paint, rather than black stone. It's got a glossy texture to it. There was a guy on a lifter painting some of the details on the next building along (the manpower office) with black paint too.

Should have got a picture. It would be nice to see the face of one of the 5 guys named Moe who are working (?) on this project.

Looks like they were worried about a gas leak: http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/nova-s...gas-leak-.html

Signs of movement, but slow pace on this one.

Put the freaking glass up. Didn't that whole TD building on SGR go up after this was started?

The Moes working on this were pulled off the project to paint over the Morse's Tea sign.

Gas leak 'eh? Bungled insurance-claim job? Should have done it at night time when there would've been fewer people around to notice the smell before the inevitable explosion. Guess they'll have to finish building it after all now.
