Hey guys, I am wondering if someone will do a drawing of the 1927 proposal for the Book Tower. At 81 stories and over 900 feet it would have been the tallest building outside of New York City and possibly even taller than the Woolworth building in NYC at the time of its completion. It would have been slightly taller than Detroit's present-day tallest building, The Renaissance Center.
The building was never built, instead only the smaller 475-foot tower, seen to the rear of the building in this postcard, was built.
One should be able to acquire the proper height and dimensions using this postcard, and the present-day Book Tower, as a guide.
