Thanks. That was quite a building to come down. Does anyone know the height that it was?

Yes. The second tallest was the Singer Building for One Liberty Plaza, that was 612ft.

The old Bankers Trust Building which was damaged in 9/11 was pretty tall too.

Wow. And obviously the twin towers are the tallest to come down.

But Bankers Trust came down voluntarily. The insurers were under a lot of pressure to declare it a Constructive Total Loss. Had it been rehabilitated, no one would have wanted to occupy it. It would’ve been like building offices at Auschwitz.

The actual height was 708 feet tall. This is like 95 feet taller than the previous record holder Singer Building that was demolished in 1968.

Forgive me for asking, but what is going to be located where the old building was?

lol the question is funny at face value, but it's totally reasonable to ask this based on the unusual timeline set up here, where one part of the site is under construction and the other part still occupied by the old building. Someone not following closely would rightly assume that the entirety of the tower portion is already above ground and that something else is going in on the site of the old tower.

Submariner, to answer your question, only a portion of the tower is currently above ground. When the old building is finally completely demolished, the other half of the new tower will spring forth from that part of the site.

Oh stupid me...I'm thinking that the building was rising entirely over the existing new structure (or what exists of it).

The entire foundation is being re-used. The Madison Avenue end was the low-rise portion of the tower, it came down a lot sooner.

Basically what we have seen rise so far is the Madison Avenue end of the base that will eventually reach Park Avenue...

Everyone’s patience is to be applauded, but I will point out that there are well over 2000 posts about this building in this thread and almost any question answerable is answered here.
