So I was by a couple of times today and they now have a steel frame up for a building up past Tim Horton's (I circled the building in red);

If I had to guess I would say it might be the future home of the the long rumored Canadian Tire.

World-class tennis facility to open near dome in 2010
Halifax News Net
By Yvette d’Entremont - The Weekly News

BEDFORD – Jeff Domm with Tennis Canada was also on hand for the Oct. 30 grand opening of the Rocky Lake Dome rink. He announced to an enthusiastic crowd that Tennis Canada plans to open a privately-operated world class tennis facility at the Rocky Lake site in 2010.
The facility has strong backing from Tennis Canada and is expected to be a showcase training facility for youth. He also touched on a court design geared towards seniors, an increasingly large segment of the population.
The facility is expected to help promote growth of the sport throughout HRM.
“Even though it’s not yet built, it’s being considered a model by Tennis Canada for other sites in Canada,” Domm said.
Once built, the facility will be capable of hosting high level international events like the Davis Cup and ATP Challenger Tour.

I don't know about anyone else, but I think the dome is just plain ugly. Don't get me wrong, it's great that there's another ice surface in Bedford, but they could have made it a bit more appealing to the eyes. The dome is in fact now open and there are hockey practices in there so far.

Yah I completely agree with you there.

It's actually a joke in school that something is uglier than CPA ...

honestly, i found it on the internet by searching on google images, and it's taken from the bedford waterfront, the dock behind the sobeys. it looks toward DeWolfe park.

That might be where I've seen the photo before. I think it might be a HRM photo that used for promotional crap since really that is only really good looking view in Bedford.

Funny thing is I have a photo just like that somewheres on my backup drive.

Yah true unless you count the Sun Tower and neighbouring buildings. We still beat the crap out of Sackville though.

Man is it finally nice to have a fellow Bedfordian on board. Now someone will actually know what the hell I'm talking about (and its good back-up for the cheap shots from Dartmouth).

Yah the same reason that I joined a year and half ago ...

Not to promote my own work here but the Compilation thread has the links to the buildings going up around town and well as far as I know its pretty up-to-date.
