I'm glad that a compromise has been reached. Manitoba Possible's project sounds too good to be allowed to fail. Maybe SFM and their allies can help boost the whole Manitoba Possible project?

I love that it's Manitoba Possible. Sure makes you look like a huge asshole when they propose an epic addition to a community that incorporates existing historical features, adds density and attention to the area, and is accessible to everyone and you try and say no, lol.

great news...I wonder how SFM will be able to provide free rent for the current tenants, and still maintain a building....or will they have to kick them out?

Noticed today the auto garage on Provencher that burned down last year turned out to be arson and insurance fraud. crazy.

Maybe the parties involved finally stood at Provencher and St. Joseph on a cold, windswept night, did a 360 assessment of what they saw and said, "We can do better!"

Hopefully there weren't waves of Semi's passing by and they could actually hear each other on the cold, windswept night.

The building beside Joe Daley's on St. Mary's is up for sale, would be a great place for a teardown and new mixed use build like lots of the other new ones in the area.

Lots of residential development in St. B north of Provencher just completed or in various stages of approval/development:

Completed
- Notre Terrace - IronClad Properties Apartment at Notre Dame and St. Joseph
- La Maison Apartments - 153 Aubert

Construction
- Vue Tache - Qualico condos at 780 Tache

Approvals
- 155/157/165 Provencher
- Parmalat land
- Something on Dumoulin at St Joseph I recall?

Plus some individual home infill.

Here is the Medical Centre/Office/Parkade building that is proposed for across Tache from the St B ER.

Looks good. Anything to fill in the massive gaping voids of surface parking around St. B is A-OK in my books.

Is that the existing parkade on Tache on the rendering? Looks like it, so if that's the case, this will go immediately to the south.

I wonder how close they are to shovels in the ground?

Ya it appears to line up with the parking lot intersection to the south of the parkade. I hope some of that main floor space is potential third party CRU and not just a waiting room.

It's interesting to me that it's going here when they tore down that small brick building at the corner of Tache and Rinella a couple years ago. Would've preferred that gap get filled first as its closer to the "action" of the hospital and park, where this lot is still across the street from another giant surface lot. I guess it's good they're doing something though. At this point the hospital has become a cancer to the area (no pun intended) creating so many surface lots and bad buildings in the area, especially Goulet.

That is a monstrous parkade in the back. I hope this is a sign they realize parkades are way better and they can develop more of their surface lots.

I realize no one loves parkades, but that area around St. Boniface Hospital drives a lot of parking demand, like it or not. Better to accommodate it in efficient parkades instead of ripping down half the neighbourhood for surface lots.

Totally. And if you can hide it behind a building, even better. Don't know the materials on this but it looks fairly nice. Has 60s centennial centre vibes to me haha.
