^ Haha, you're aweome! I think it's funny how anytime someone says something you don't like you call them "guy." It reminds me of back in the nineties when we people always call each other "girl" . Like "Girl, you don't know what you talkin' bout. Move yo sorry ass on outta here"

When I was in High School there use to be an R and B band called "Guy"...

But yeah, me and all my buddies still use that word... I guess we're stuck back in the early 90,s and refuse to grow outta that shit.

However, I still consider myself a child of the 1980's

Probably the best along Hughson. Stand in the middle and look South and you'll see a canyon of buildings with the GO Station at the end.

Low rise canyon at Richmond and Yonge looking west... These canyons, Adelaide and Richmond are more impressive once you pass University Ave...

^OK Cal, if you are including "Illusions of a canyon" as part of your definition of canyon, then that harbour front shot counts, but anyone familiar with Toronto knows that right after that P for parking sign, you have open sky and water all the way until Queen's Quay Terminal.

If I knew how to link to Google Streetview we could allow the rest of Canada to do a 360 and see what's really around.

I will admit that some of MokeyRonin's examples fropm Streetview were a lot more convincing. But Every example you have shown so far, I do a mental left and right pan in my mind and know you are just showing illusions.

Keepin' it real.

The cloudy weather and gloom are helping your cause. After all, I don't think a good canyon picture should be all sunny and bright, but so far it's still all smoke and mirrors Cal.

Cal I find what most of you are showing us is streetwall, not canyon IMHO.

So far the best examples of Canadian canyons has to be from Cowtown Tim on the second page of this thread. My fave being:

omfg? Streetwall vs Canyon. RUFn Serious?

Streetwall on both sides is a canyon....

If I had a helicopter I could get a shot of Bay Street all the way down...

goodloard.

The picture at groundlevel that Ramako posted is just as fine as the image from cowtown tim.

St-Jacques street could have been very Newyorkesque if the buildings were a little taller. Montreal has a couple of canyons, but none with 30+ buildings only, except maybe Maisonneuve. Maybe René-Lévesque could be considered too, but I'm not sure we can say it's a canyon.

Saint-Pierre could be Fulton street though!

Dont let Traynor get in your head man... First he'll be like, ok you've posted a picture with tall buildings on both sides, but thats crap cause its not consistant like in Ottawa. Then when you post a solid streetwall like they have in Ottawa, he'll be thats too short.. then post a picture of Calgary for effect.

Those pictures of Montreal are CANYONS to me... no worries man. Im gonna do a wild photo tour of Montral in a second. Old Montreal...

London Ontario is bereft of canyons...London has a small cliff on the right hand side of King Street (Facing west) near the JLC.

KW has one between the shoppers drug mart and money mart.

Where's that epic shot along the King Street corridor that was apparently taken from 1 King West? I saw it posted ages ago.
