I thought the same thing during the Northwestern game yesterday. Even from Evanston Vista is very visible and makes a huge impact on the skyline.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if that rumored SCB 930ft tower gets built, that gap between Vista and Aqua should be filled nicely looking east on Wacker.

That would seem to be a perfect/exact placement for the tower. Good call there Red

Won't happen, that gap is too far north. The SCB lot sits a block west of aqua. If it fills the lot, it will likely block aqua. If it is thin and sits on the southern half it will likely block aqua to a degree, but sitting slightly to the right of it - depending on where on Wacker you are you might not even see it.

Yeah... I just had to look at google maps to see this and you are correct. If the building is positioned more on the southern portion of the 210N stetson lot then it'll be not visible at all from Wacker. Bummer :/

Happy glass day!!

9:20am local time, no action on the south face of building yet. Hopefully there's something happening on the north face. Yesterday I saw one of those tiny cranes they use to swing the glass out for installation up there on the lower north east side

Are they keeping that older glass that's been there for a year? How is it going to match?

I believe the glass design never changed. It does look a lot different after collecting construction dust for a while, though. Makes me wonder what method they'll use to clean this massive building, and how often they'll do so.

Great capture of the first unit Cozy.

This was roughly 12:30 on the Northern Side of the building. No units that I noticed but several crews working at different areas on the building on the edge of the floor plates. I hung around for a while hoping to catch a unit getting set but I didn't get a chance to. I was disappointed to be honest but I guess there is a lot of logistics and prep work that go into the actual units getting set. Oh well...at least the wait is over! I hope there are some other pictures with progress from today. Cheers to the final chapter.

Edit: I forgot..I know I've said it about 2000 times but this building truly is massive in person...Pictures really can't capture it.

Pigeons and chunks of ice - hopefully some slant on the ledges.

The structure for the rest of the tower goes to regular columns vs that sheer wall.
