The street level of that podium is going to be super important.

Massively important, thankfully they are using WZMH out of Toronto and have a local planner who is quite skilled and cognizant of this important component.

Edmonton's got some fantastic residential proposals! Actually, like 'em better than Calgary's.... and they're taller!

The towers are somewhat interesting but, that podium needs a lot of refinement.

I think the design is for rezoning only and probably will not look anything like the proposal. That being said, thin tall residential towers without balconies sure would be nice!

I like the move to a six-story podium. Seven seems gigantic. Don't really like the loss of overall height but it appears to be the same end result for density with 1300 units (maximum.)

Any idea why the change in height? Was there opposition to the original 51 storey towers?

We're looking at the same thing with a proposal here. It'll either be two towers...one 50 something, and the other 40 something, or three towers of a lesser height.
I won't be surprised to see them go with the 3 towers, but there's always hope

Tallest tower and the entire podium to go first, other 2 towers to follow so I hear.

40, 35, and 30 ain't too bad. I kinda think that's what will happen with the Calgary one, and I'm okay with that. I would be happy with 5 towers of even lower heights.

Kind of odd that the tallest is towards the North of the site. I can see that for valley and skyline views, but just odd with respect to the overall massing of the downtown skyline. That is a ginormous podium. I like the look of the newer drawings' podium better, but it seems less integrated into the Massey Ferguson building which pretty much stands on its own. Maybe not the worst thing for the design overall.
