I'm guessing that a lot of it has to do with clearing out the lot (it was full of pretty sizable trees and a lot of garbage) and as JET says, probably it's more delicate than usual since there's the old facade to consider. There's probably extra care they have to take to ensure they don't, like, knock it over.

Still looks like the ugly bombed-out shell it has always been. Where's that Cat D-8...

The door has been open a lot lately when I walk by, but not visible progress.

It is good to see an update on the NFB project. Hopefully once the snow melts the progress will accelerate.

There's steel decking making up the second floor visible from the door when I was by this weekend.

I thought I saw that as well when I drove by on the bus last week, could just see what looked like metal floor joists for a second floor as I went by; even with all the snow the Moes have been busy. That'll make it much harder for a random CAT to knock it down.

I thought that had always been there and was just some of the support for the old facade. lol

Waye Mason posted the following update in the Green Lantern Building thread on August 7, 2015 - http://forum.skyscraperpage.com/show...50#post7121450

They were working inside with a small backhoe when I went by yesterday.
That was a month ago, I was wondering if anyone has passed by the NFB building recently and could give an update?

I see workers going in there daily and can hear noise, but no visible progress.

The dumpster is tucked in to the space by Neptune, the sidewalk is open, there is a small bobcat type skid steer with a backhoe in there digging.

So at the speed that they are working we can expect it to be completed by the middle of this century? Of course we have to hope they don't go bankrupt on such a slow project.

Not sure if this has been posted yet. Here's a detailed front elevation from the planning report. There's a lot more detailing planned than what is shown in the rendering:

Honestly, they can take their time if it means getting it right. That drawing looks great!
