Thought of that, too, but is their budget that high? After doing some research through Google, it seems that it does fit the bill, actually.

I can't see it either. Although I can see ywgwalk's pics of 300 Main in that thread, oddly enough.

^ I can see that one. Looks good btw... having two mismatched buildings that are part of the same complex will take some getting used to, but on its own it looks good.

I noticed the for lease signs are down on the old antiques and funk space at Main and Bannatyne.

Yes, business and staff without work...not reopening a store...I believe there is a proposal for a new build on that spot. I also heard in the basement are a couple of old jail or holding cells?

Since there isn't a thread for the FortWhyte projects yet, I'll mention this here.

Within the next month or so the interpretive centre will be emptied and almost completely gutted. Some office space will become gallery space, some gallery space will become office space and the owl room will be reworked to make it a better owl habitat (instead of a waterfowl habitat converted for owls). Aquariums will stay pretty much the same and the building will be much more energy-efficient.

On the Buffalo Crossing side of the project, it sounds like they are going back to the drawing board for the design, they decided it looks too boring and too much like most new construction these days (I agree based on the renders). The overall plan with the bridge over Muir lake and the observation tower/toboggan slide are still included.

Thanks for posting.

This is where they're going to/were going to re-cover the outside with some junk instead of using similar materials to whats there now?

All the lighting is being worked on and fixtures replaced, something is definitely going in already.

I believe the buildings have been sold ($1,500,000ish). The new owners I’m sure would be putting in LED as a first step...

A new beginning. That’s hopeful!

Just redo the front and scrape off the peeling paint on the side. Wouldn't take much.

Great news thanks! More than one building?

Will be nice to see some exterior cladding of some kind after all these years.

I'm surprised someone would pay $1.5M for those buildings and not try and change the nature of the tenancy. Low rent retail (much as I love it) doesn't drive a $1.5M price, does it?

Also good to see some action on McDermot as well.
